The winter event in GTA V is here and it's bringing some chilly fun with it. The event, which takes place in the game's fictional city of Los Santos, will last for about two weeks and feature various levels of snowfall across different parts of the map. The snow will affect gameplay, making driving more difficult, so it may not be the best time for racing.
In addition to the snow, players will also have to watch out for a menacing figure called The Gooch. This creature roams the streets looking for victims to rob of their money and snacks. Players can take on The Gooch and, if they're successful, they'll get back any loot it took from them, as well as a Gooch mask, snacks, and $25,000. To encounter The Gooch, players must be online and outside of a building for at least 50 minutes without taking on any missions. Simply walking around will increase the chances of an encounter.
There are also a couple of special missions available during the winter event. One mission takes place at Weazel Plaza and tasks players with neutralizing targets in order to earn the new WM 29 Pistol and Season's Greetings skins for the Pistol MK II. The other mission involves finding 25 hidden snowmen scattered across the map, with a reward of $125,000 and a Snowman outfit for those who are able to locate them all.
As for the snowmen themselves, they can be found at the following locations:
- Fudge Lane intersection in El Burro Heights
- Alta Street in Chamberlain Hills
- Elgin Avenue in Legion Square
- West Galileo Avenue in Vinewood Hills
- Aguja Street on Vespucci Beach
- Inseno Road
- Grapeseed Main Street
- Bayfree Canyon Road in the Great Chaparral region
- The intersection of South Rockford Drive and San Andreas Avenue in the Vespucci Canals area

- West Eclipse Boulevard in Rockford Hills

- The intersection between Tongva Drive and Zancudo Road
- RON Alternates Wind Farm
- Joshua Road

The winter event in GTA V will run until January 11, after which the extra missions and collectibles will no longer be available. Unfortunately, there's no way to manually remove the snow from the map, but it will disappear on its own by the end of the event.
